Sonam Wangchuk breaks hunger strike after 26 days | India News



Activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his hunger strike past midnight after 26 days at Medanta hospital in Gurgaon. Visuals showed Wangchuk sipping from a cup. “I’m grateful and happy to break my fast. Thank you,” he is heard saying. He also posted a message on social media, “Just now in the presence of Union Ministers J P Nadda & Dr Jitendra Singh and the senior leaders of Apex Body of Leh Ladakh I finally broke my fast after 26 days… This was done after a long negotiation on various conditions and in view of possible violence in the country… Meanwhile I urge you all to stay very vigilant about not allowing violence of any kind anywhere.”
