SKM announces farmers' protests at 100 locations, including Delhi, from November 26
November 26 also marks the sixth anniversary of the year-long farmers’ protest, which culminated in the repeal of the three farm laws in December 2021.

NEW DELHI: Emboldened by the success of the students’ protests here at Jantar Mantar, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM)—the umbrella organisation of farmer groups involved in the anti-farm laws agitation five years ago—on Monday announced that it would restart protests at 100 locations, including Delhi, across India from November 26 – the day which will mark the sixth anniversary of the year-long farmers’ protest, which culminated in the repeal of the three farm laws in December 2021.The protests will demand a law guaranteeing minimum support price (MSP), repeal of all free trade agreements and no India-US FTA, and a comprehensive loan waiver to address rural indebtedness. The SKM’s demand list also includes four other demands such as scrapping of four labour codes; minimum wage of Rs. 31,000 payable to all workers as well as restoration of the previous rural job guarantee scheme; withdrawal of Electricity Privatisation Bill 2025, the Seed Bill 2025, and the NFSA Amendment Bill; and no forceful land acquisition.
