Tamil superstar Suriya is enjoying a successful phase after the blockbuster release of his latest film ‘Karuppu’. As the actor is gearing up for the release of his next film ‘Vishwanath & Sons’, he recently shared an update about the much awaited ‘Rolex’ project helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj from the Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Vikram’ universe.

Suriya talks about ‘Rolex’

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Suriya shared that he does not know when they will begin working on the film. He shared that although Lokesh Kangaraj currently has hands full with multiple projects, he is working on ‘Rolex’ as well.He said, “I don’t know what Lokesh (Lokesh Kanagaraj) is doing. He’s already busy with Allu Arjun’s film. I think he also has ‘Vikram 2’. But I see him in the interviews saying ‘Rolex’ is there. He is writing it. So, whenever it happens. Time will answer.”There has been a lot of anticipation among the audience since Rolex’s debut in the 2022 ‘Vikram’. During the climax scene of the Kamal Haasan, Suriya is revealed as the terrifying, unhinged and sadistic character Rolex in the film who is a ruthless kingpin feared by his gang members. Suriya’s performance with Anirudh’s intense background score made him one of the most awaited characters.‘Rolex’ is said to be an upcoming standalone project from the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which will later clash with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram. The film is expected to tell the backstory of Rolex and how he rose to power.

Suriya shared update on Jithu Madhavan film

Meanwhile, during the same conversation, Suriya also shared an update about his upcoming film with ‘Aavesham’ director Jithu Madhavan. He revealed that the shooting has been completed and the film is expected to release towards the end of 2026.He said, “Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan’s film is done. Yesterday was the wrap of that film. That is our home production. That will be the end of the year release.”
