NEW DELHI: A director in the Lok Sabha Secretariat allegedly died by suicide at his flat in a Noida housing society, police said on Wednesday.The deceased, identified as Gaurav Gautam, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his apartment at Kendriya Vihar-II Society in Noida’s Sector 82 on Sunday, police said, as cited by PTI.Police said a purported suicide note recovered from the flat referred to a loan. Its contents are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.According to the Phase-2 police station, officers were alerted to the incident after receiving a memo from a hospital, where Gaurav Gautam had been taken. Doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police said Gautam’s wife had gone to her parental home. On returning, she found the flat locked and, sensing that something was wrong, entered the apartment with the assistance of a security guard.She found Gautam hanging and immediately rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead, police said.A forensic team and local police later inspected the scene and collected evidence. After completing the inquest proceedings, the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
