Two BJP MPs have moved motion against Rahul Gandhi.

NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha Secretariat has sent notice to the leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi, seeking a response to two separate complaints alleging a breach of privilege over his remarks against Union home minister Amit Shah during a debate on the anti-paper leak bill. The secretariat has asked the Congress leader to submit his reply by August 28, news agency PTI reported. The complaints were filed by BJP MPs Anurag Thakur and Sanjay Jaiswal, who alleged that Rahul Gandhi used “unparliamentary” and “derogatory” language against the Home Minister during the debate on the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.Jaiswal, who is also the BJP’s chief whip in the Lok Sabha, shared copies of the communication sent to Rahul Gandhi and his own complaint against the Leader of the Opposition. In his July 29 complaint to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Jaiswal sought action against Rahul Gandhi under the Rules of Procedure, alleging that the Congress leader’s remarks against Amit Shah were unparliamentary.A day later, Anurag Thakur submitted a separate complaint, accusing Rahul Gandhi of using “unparliamentary and derogatory language” and making serious allegations against the home minister without providing adequate advance notice under parliamentary rules.
