Director SV Rajendra Singh Babu has addressed the criticism surrounding Yash’s upcoming movie ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. His comments come after his daughter, actor Rishika Singh, voiced objections to parts of the movie’s promotional material.Rishika Singh recently reacted to the trailer and songs of ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. She questioned some of the romantic and intimate visuals featured in the promotional content. Her comments also focused on how women are portrayed in the movie.

SV Rajendra Singh Babu noted that the ‘KGF’ actor’s movies have helped Kannada cinema reach audiences across the country.As quoted by Cinema Express, speaking highly of Yash, SV Rajendra Singh Babu said, “Yash is like the Kohinoor diamond for our Kannada industry”.The filmmaker also praised the ambition behind ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. He suggested that the movie’s scale shows the growing potential of Kannada cinema and Yash’s position within the industry.
Rishika Singh questions ‘Toxic’ visuals
Rishika Singh had earlier shared her reaction to the trailer of ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. She expressed discomfort with certain romantic and intimate moments shown in the promotional material.She also questioned why Yash chose to be part of a project featuring such imagery. Rishika Singh said she expected the actor to show greater respect towards women.She said in the video, “Beauty is what truly suits a woman, but respect is what truly suits a man, my boy. Why did you have to drop your pants like that you absolute monkey? You have a wife waiting at home so what’s the need for flirting with actresses? We certainly don’t support this new business of yours at all. You have women in your own life, yet you come here acting tough and talking big. Show women some proper respect or we will surely kick you out of Karnataka.“Meanwhile, ‘Toxic’ also received backlash from netizens when the makers had earlier shared the glimpse from the movie.Geethu Mohandas’ directorial ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26.
