2 Pocso undertrials escaped from Srinagar’s high-security Central Jail, triggering a manhunt and lookout notices

SRINAGAR: Two men facing charges under the Pocso Act escaped from the high-security Central Jail in Srinagar on Sunday.Police have issued lookout notices and launched a manhunt for the undertrials — Farman Khan, from Rajasthan’s Sadanpora, and Mukhtar Ahmad Gujjar, from Anantnag district of south Kashmir. Police said anyone passing information leading to the fugitives’ arrest will be rewarded.The escape is considered rare as the Central Jail has been under the protection of CISF since last year and houses high-profile inmates.
