Suriya and Mamitha Baiju’s ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ has achieved a major box office milestone. The movie crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in India net collections on its 10th day. The film also continued its steady growth during the second weekend. Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘DC’ recorded a decline in earnings on its third Sunday.
‘Vishwanath and Sons’ crosses 100 crore India net
According to Sacnilk, ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ collected an estimated Rs 7.30 crore in India net on Day 10. The movie was screened across 4,391 shows on Sunday. The latest figure marks a 0.7% increase over the Rs 7.25 crore earned on Day 9. The Suriya and Mamitha Baiju starrer has now taken its total India net collection to Rs 100.65 crore.The movie’s India gross currently stands at Rs 116.42 crore. It also added Rs 1.50 crore from overseas markets on Day 10. The overseas gross has reached Rs 53.25 crore, taking the worldwide collection to Rs 169.67 crore.The Tamil version of ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ registered an overall occupancy of 45.50% on Day 10. Morning shows recorded 28.46% occupancy. Afternoon screenings improved to 55.46%.Evening shows witnessed 57% occupancy. Night screenings recorded 41.08%.The Telugu version registered a higher overall occupancy of 56.50%. Morning shows recorded 29.75%. Afternoon screenings reached 50.92%, while evening shows registered the day’s highest figure of 65%. Night shows recorded 54.67%.The movie’s Day 10 India gross stood at Rs 8.45 crore. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed Rs 3.40 crore. Tamil Nadu added Rs 3.50 crore, while Karnataka contributed Rs 1.25 crore. ‘DC’ sees 13% drop on day 17
Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi’s ‘DC’ witnessed a decline during its third Sunday. The Tamil movie collected an estimated India net of Rs 1.41 crore on Day 17.The movie had 1,591 shows on Sunday. Its latest collection was 13% lower than the Rs 1.62 crore recorded on Day 16.‘DC’ has now accumulated Rs 65.62 crore in India net collections. Its India gross stands at Rs 75.57 crore. The movie has also earned Rs 21.95 crore from overseas markets. Its worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 97.52 crore.
‘DC’ occupancy remains moderate
The Tamil version of ‘DC’ registered an overall occupancy of 38.99% on Day 17. Morning screenings recorded 19.62%. Afternoon shows reached 35.15%.Evening occupancy climbed to 42%. Night screenings recorded 35.46%. The Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy of 31.68%. Morning shows registered 21%, while afternoon screenings reached 31.30%. Evening occupancy stood at 32.40%. Night shows recorded 27.40%.The movie collected Rs 1.41 crore in India gross on Day 17. Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 99 lakh. After collecting Rs 4.50 crore on Day 8, ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ jumped to Rs 7.25 crore on Day 9.
