Centre seeks SC intervention over FIRs against NEET protesters

NEW DELHI: The Centre has moved Supreme Court seeking to quash the FIRs registered against protesters in connection with alleged violence during protests over the NEET paper leak in Delhi and other states.Solicitor general Tushar Mehta mentioned the plea before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Monday, seeking the court’s intervention in the matter, news agency ANI reported.The Centre has urged the Supreme Court to exercise its extraordinary powers under Article 142 of the Constitution to quash the FIRs registered against the protesting students.
