Soori reveals how Ravikumar approached him for his next film
Speaking to Galatta Plus during the promotions of his upcoming film, Soori revealed that he had been waiting to work with Ravikumar for nearly seven to eight years. The two have shared a close friendship for a long time, and Soori said he had often told the filmmaker that he was ready to act in his film whenever an opportunity came up. That opportunity finally arrived when Ravikumar approached him with a script and told him that Soori was the right actor for the role. Recalling the filmmaker’s words, Soori said, “You’re the only person who can do a script like this now. You have to do it.”
Soori says Ravikumar promised a bigger challenge than ‘Mandaadi’
Soori admitted that he was initially surprised by Ravikumar’s decision to cast him in such a demanding project. The actor said the filmmaker reminded him of the risks he had taken after ‘Viduthalai’ and the change audiences had seen in him as a performer. Ravikumar also reportedly told Soori that the new film would be a bigger challenge than Mandaadi. Rather than stepping back, Soori said he was ready to accept whatever the director had in mind. “Whatever role you want to take me to, wherever you want to take me, I don’t mind. I want to work with you. If you want me, I’ll always be ready,” he said. The title, storyline and other details of the project are currently being kept under wraps.
