Yash, who has been in the news over the box office performance of his film ‘Toxic’, is now making waves for his next big venture – director Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’.The actor, who is also a co-producer in the film, has, according to latest reports, taken a different approach to acquire his remuneration for the film. Yash, who plays Ravana in the epic, is said to have opted out of a huge Rs 100 crore fee (reportedly for Ramayana Part 1 and Part 2). This is, however, not connected to the box office performance of ‘Toxic’, but rather in favour of acquiring the South Indian theatrical distribution rights for both parts of the film.According to Sacnilk, Yash will not receive a fixed remuneration for his role as the film’s antagonist. Instead, the actor, who is also attached to the project as a co-producer through his production house, Monster Mind Creations, has reportedly chosen to take the distribution rights for ‘Ramayana’ across the southern markets as part of the arrangement.The deal is said to be a departure from earlier reports that indicated that the actor would get an approximate fee of Rs 100 crore across the two instalments. If the latest arrangement is accurate, his earnings from the film would be linked to the box office performance of the film in the South Indian markets.The reported fee restructure comes shortly after the box office performance of the actor’s latest venure, ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. While the Geetu Mohandas-directed film opened with an impressive Rs 101.10 crore net haul in India on its first day, its collections reported a huge drop in the following days. By the end of its first week, the film had earned just around Rs 229.60 crore net in India.For Yash, the deal could prove considerably more lucrative than a fixed Rs 100 crore fee. If early trade estimates prove to be true and ‘Ramayana’ performs well in the southern markets, it would give him a greater stake in the film’s commercial performance.‘Ramayana’ stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The epic will release in two parts, with ‘Ramayana: Part One’ scheduled to release on November 6, 2026, worldwide and on November 8 in India. The second part will release on Diwali 2027.
