When Paul Walker passed away in a freak accident during the filming of ‘Furious 7,’ his brothers, Cody and Caleb, helped complete the movie and bring finality to his journey in the franchise. Since the series’ final movie is approaching and in the works, fans have been wondering whether Walker’s character would make a brief return posthumously with the help of his younger brothers. However, according to a recent update, it has been confirmed that neither Cody nor Caleb will be joining the ‘Fast and Furious’ cast for the final film. Here’s what we know so far about this.

Paul Walker’s brothers Cody and Caleb will not return for the ‘Fast and Furious’ final film

While Vin Diesel had teased earlier that Walker could briefly return in the final film, his brother Cody has confirmed that he is not interested in doing that anymore. While talking to Entertainment Weekly, he clarified, “My stance is, it’s what Meadow wants to see done; it’s her father. “I would not be interested in doing that again. I love the way his character exited the franchise. They didn’t kill him off; they didn’t do something cheesy like that. It’s beautiful; [Brian] is off raising his kids. But if they want to do that, if Meadow would like to see that, they don’t need me or Caleb.”He further shared that back in 2014, when his brother passed away and they stepped in to give him a proper send-off from the franchise, artificial intelligence did not exist. “AI was not a thing back in 2014, so they could do that. There are years of footage that was never used from these other Fast films. They’re the best in the business; they can figure that out,” he concluded. In 2014, after Walker’s passing, Cody, Caleb, and actor John Brotherton played his character for many of the scenes that hadn’t been filmed and provided him with a proper send-off. The Walker brothers had last shared their interest in returning to the franchise in 2018. While talking to the Associated Press, Caleb had shared, “I just hope we get to have a little cameo and bring Paul back to save the day and I get to help create that again,” with Cody adding, “I think there could potentially be a way to do it. But it would take a lot of thought, and it’d have to be tasteful.”The final film in the franchise, which is currently titled ‘Fast Forever,’ is scheduled to release in theaters sometime next year
