Majority Leader John Thune all but extinguished the already dwindling chances Senate Republicans might act on a new party-line budget reconciliation bill before the election.
He told reporters Tuesday that he does not expect a budget resolution, needed to kickstart the reconciliation process, to get a vote before the election. The House adopted their own version of the fiscal blueprint in July that doesn’t have the votes in the Senate.
“That’ll probably be post-election question,” Thune said.
