Filmmaker Kunal Kohli has praised Salman Khan for speaking strongly against trolling, body-shaming and inappropriate photos of celebrities on the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of ‘Bigg Boss 20’. Kunal Kohli praises Salman Khan on X

Kunal Kohli shared his reaction on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “Salman Khan, respect! You made the most important points on social media etiquette, behaviour, trolls & paps and the people who follow and encourage such behaviour. Aur jab bhai bolta hai toh uske baad koi nahin bol sakta.”

Kunal Kohli says social media behaviour has gone out of control

In his video message, the filmmaker said, “Salman has just made the most important and the most relevant points on the paparazzi and the lack of social media etiquette in the last couple of years or decades. Social media has grown, but the responsibility, the etiquette; the behaviour has declined beyond humanitarian levels. The shots that paps take of women getting off cars, sitting on tables, back shots, trolls talking about people who have aged, people who have gained weight, lost weight – it has all gone out of control.Kunal Kohli also spoke about the effect Salman Khan’s words had inside the ‘Bigg Boss‘ house. He said, “The points that Salman made – so beautifully, so correctly and with so much authority – that ‘Bigg Boss 20’ participants were standing up and listening to him with awe. And that is the power of a personality like Salman. That when he talks, people listen.”He added that some people with reach and influence could speak up on such issues but often stay silent. “That is the power of a few people who have the position and the power but sadly don’t talk,” he said.

Kunal Kohli slams paparazzi and their followers

The filmmaker criticised photographers for clicking inappropriate pictures of celebrities. He also targeted those who follow and subscribe to accounts that share such content. He said, “You cannot hide under the fact that you are in the public eye; you are going to be faced with all these things. No. I am sorry. There are levels of decency, respectability and basic human courtesy that everyone in society has to follow. And the people who are watching it? You are as bad as the people who are posting it.”Kohli ended with a personal note for the actor. “As for Salman, respect, dude, respect. You have won my respect and my heart,” said Kunal Kohli, further adding, “When Salman speaks, everyone shuts up. And this time he has really spoken, and we should listen and follow what he said and ensure that this doesn’t happen.”

Salman Khan’s ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ makes headlines

The latest episode is one that viewers may remember for a long time. Salman spoke about online trolling, body-shaming and photographers who click actors in uncomfortable ways. He questioned the fading sense of basic decency on the internet and called out not only those who post such content but also those who engage with it.
