NEW DELHI: The BJP on Thursday announced the appointment of state general secretaries and joint general secretaries across several states, naming 24 party leaders for the organisational posts.The appointments come months ahead of crucial assembly elections in five states, as the ruling party continues to strengthen its organisational machinery ahead of the polls.The list includes leaders such as Satish Dhond, V Satish, Manas Mohanty and Mantri Srinivasulu, among others.The announcement comes a day after the BJP named its state incharges for different states. Party leader Smriti Irani has been given charge of Chhattisgarh and Haryana as part of the latest organisational changes.The appointments are part of the BJP’s wider organisational exercise ahead of the upcoming electoral battles.
