NEW DELHI: India’s star boxer Lovlina Borgohain defeated Kazakhstan’s Natalya Bogdanova to enter the women’s 75kg final at the Nishio Gymnasium in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Wednesday.Lovlina, who won a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, now has a chance to change the colour of her medal at the continental event.The Indian boxer won the closely fought semifinal on points. The judges’ scorecards showed Lovlina winning three rounds, while Bogdanova took two rounds on some of the cards.Lovlina won the first round on three of the five judges’ scorecards. The second round went in her favour on two cards, while the third round was again split between the two boxers.The final scores were 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, 28-29 and 28-29 in favour of Lovlina.Lovlina will now fight for the gold medal on October 2.
