Salman Khan has called off a high-profile Mumbai event following the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar. The event was cancelled on Thursday as a mark of respect for the late star, who died at the age of 75.
Salman Khan cancels event out of respect for Nana Patekar
According to the News 18 report, Salman Khan was scheduled to attend a function hosted by GB Realty and its Chairman and Managing Director, Gurinder Bhatti. It was to be held at Taj Lands End in Bandra from 6 pm on Thursday. The team said Salman had “chosen to be with them (Patekar’s family)” in this tough time.The statement read, “On behalf of GB Realty and the Salman Khan team, we regret to inform the media fraternity and our guests that today’s press conference to announce SK’s first branded residences is postponed due to the sudden demise of veteran actor Mr. Nana Patekar. Out of respect and in solidarity with the family during this difficult time, Salman Khan has chosen to be with them.”

Salman also remembered the actor on his Instagram Stories. He shared a photo of Nana and wrote, “Rest in peace Bhau”.
How Nana Patekar died
Nana passed away on October 8 after a cardiac arrest. Reports say he complained of severe chest pain at his home in Goa, after which a medical team was called. The actor was reportedly unconscious when they reached. He was given cardiac massage at the spot and then taken to a private hospital in Dona Paula, where doctors declared him dead at 5:20 AM.
Nana Patekar’s funeral
Veteran actor Nana Patekar’s funeral is scheduled to take place on Thursday evening, October 8, 2026, between 9 PM and 10 PM at his farmhouse in Donje (Donaje), near Khadakwasla in Pune district. The last rites will be performed with full state honours.The Maharashtra government has accorded him a state-honours funeral in recognition of his immense contribution to Marathi theatre, Indian cinema and social welfare.
