NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained by Delhi Police on Saturday at the IGI Airport.Dipke had earlier said he was prepared to face arrest as he travelled to Delhi for the party’s proposed Jantar Mantar protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of using security restrictions to prevent people from joining the demonstration.Questioning the deployment of security forces and restrictions on public movement, Dipke alleged that the government feared young people and citizens challenging its actions. At least 600 people have been detained under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act as security was tightened across the national capital ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed protest at Jantar Mantar, demanding Kumar’s resignation.Stringent traffic restrictions came into force at 6 am, with diversions planned at several locations across Delhi. Police personnel were deployed at barricades and key intersections to check vehicles and monitor movement around the protest site.
