Imran Khan’s comeback film ‘Adhure Hum Adhure Tum’ targets December release
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Imran revealed that the team had been told to prepare for a potential December 18 release and was working to meet the deadline.“We have been told that they intend to release it in mid- December, on December 18 so we are rushing to finish post-production and deliver it to them on time. Since it’s OTT not theatrical, I don’t think the date makes any difference. I’m just glad that we can finally share this film with everyone,” he said. The film had reportedly been expected to arrive on a major streaming platform in early 2026, but that release did not materialise. The December 18 date remains a reported target rather than a confirmed release date, with the team still working to complete post-production.‘Adhure Hum Adhure Tum’ features Bhumi Pednekkar in the lead role alongside Imran. Further details about the film’s storyline and its streaming platform have not been officially confirmed.
Imran Khan’s cameo in ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos ’
Earlier this year, Imran made a brief cameo in ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’, a film backed by Aamir Khan and co-directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri. The appearance offered audiences a glimpse of the actor after his extended break from leading roles. His upcoming project, however, is expected to mark a more substantial return, placing him back at the centre of a film.
From romantic-comedy star to a decade-long hiatus
Imran first found success with romantic comedies and youth-oriented films, including ‘I Hate Luv Storys’, ‘Delhi Belly’ and ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. His screen persona made him a familiar face in the genre during the late 2000s and early 2010s.His box-office run subsequently became less consistent. Films such as ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, ‘Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!’ and ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ did not achieve the commercial success expected of them.‘Katti Batti’, the 2015 romantic comedy-drama co-starring Kangana Ranaut, was his last film as a lead before he stepped away from Bollywood. His absence from leading roles lasted around a decade, making ‘Adhure Hum Adhure Tum’ a significant project in his career.
