‘Nalayak neta’: BJP accuses Rahul of dragging President into ‘street fights’, creating ‘anarchy’
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday called Rahul Gandhi a “nalayak neta” over his remarks after a delegation of the INDIA bloc met President Droupadi Murmu. The party accused the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha of misrepresenting the interaction and dragging the country’s highest constitutional office into the political controversy surrounding allegations of “vote chori”.Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra challenged Rahul Gandhi’s assertion that the president had not rejected the opposition’s allegations of electoral irregularities. Patra argued that receiving a memorandum did not imply that the president agreed with the claims made in it.“Yesterday, you saw that some political leaders had gone to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Rahul Gandhi’s statement after coming out of the Rashtrapati Bhavan was equal to that of an incompetent leader, ‘Nalayak neta’,” Patra said.

What is happening at Jantar Mantar, what you can see on TV and a few social media handles, is not India’s story. India is calm and going ahead under good governance,” Patra said. The BJP MP alleged that certain “anarchist forces” had been spreading unrest in a corner of Delhi over the past few days. He claimed that their efforts had failed, describing the proposed protest as a “flop show” that had “completely collapsed”. “There was an attempt to hold India, the national capital, captive; that there be arson here, that there be violence here. But today, ‘loktantra’ has triumphed over bheedtantra,” Patra said.Read full story
