NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) activists Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das held a press briefing in New Delhi, hours after being released by a Delhi executive magistrate court on a Rs 50,000 bail bond.During the presser, the duo accused the government of “pushing the country towards civil war”.Saurav Das also charged the government with “cloning and hacking” their phone, expressing doubts that the cops would have planted evidence that could later be used against the outfit. He said their phone was snatched without providing them with the seizure memo.Das accused the government of creating an emergency-like situation in the country, similar to the one last seen in 1975.Meanwhile, Abhijeet Dipke, after being released, left for Maharashtra to be with his family as his grandmother passed away on Saturday.
Here’s what the CJP leaders said:
Delhi Police forcefully entered airplane and kidnapped us, he said.- Delhi Police did not give us formal detention notice; our phones were seized, weren’t allowed to contact lawyer, said Saurav Das.
- We suspect our phones were hacked or cloned. Just as has happened to other activists over the years, we fear they may have hacked into our devices to plant documents or other material to be presented later as evidence… We want to state here that our phones have likely been compromised: Das
- Atmosphere of fear has been created in country. It’s clearly being done to save one person, he said targeting poll body chief
Gyanesh Kumar . - They said no breach of peace for a year; breach of peace done by PM Modi, Amit Shah and Gyanesh Kumar: Saurav Das, who was relased after signing a bail condition, said.
- We want to ask Modi and Shah, why are you trying to save Gyanesh Kumar, Das said.
- “Abhijeet’s grandmother passed away yesterday, and the way Delhi Police conducted themselves upon breaking the news was utterly inhuman. It is shameful to see the police force in the nation’s capital behave with such insensitivity,” Ashutosh Ranka said.
- “Even at the exact moment Dipke was being told of her demise, police personnel stood around with cameras and microphones, attempting to turn a moment of personal grief into a spectacle,” he alleged.
A Delhi executive magistrate court on Sunday ordered the release of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, on the condition that they do not engage in any “breach of peace for one year”, the party’s head of legal affairs, Ratna Singh, said.
