A new character poster from ‘Ramayana‘ has introduced Jatayu, the legendary bird known for his courage and sacrifice in the Indian epic. The character will be voiced by veteran actor Anupam Kher, bringing another familiar name into the film’s ensemble. The poster offers a glimpse of Jatayu’s appearance, highlighting the character’s intense gaze and majestic form. His inclusion brings attention to one of the epic’s important moments, in which courage and duty take centre stage.
Anupam Kher’s Jatayu poster highlights courage and dharma
The newly released ‘Ramayana’ poster presents Jatayu in two striking visuals. One focuses on the bird’s face and sharp, determined eyes, while the other shows him with his wings spread wide. The reveal carries the title “The Wings of Dharma,” reflecting Jatayu’s role as a symbol of bravery and righteousness. Rather than relying only on his appearance, the character’s significance comes from his decision to stand against evil despite the danger. Anupam Kher’s voice will bring the character to life in the film.
Why does Jatayu’s fight against Ravana matter?
In the ‘Ramayana,’ Jatayu attempts to rescue Sita when Ravana abducts her. Although he knows that Ravana is a powerful opponent, the bird chooses to confront him rather than remain a silent witness. His attempt to stop the abduction ends in a tragic defeat, but his courage makes him an important figure in the epic. Jatayu’s actions represent sacrifice, loyalty, and the willingness to stand up for what is right, even when success seems unlikely. The character remains memorable because his bravery is defined by his choice to act, not by whether he wins the battle.
