Hollywood actress Christina Applegate has been hospitalised in Los Angeles. Her health update comes amid her long battle with multiple sclerosis.TMZ reports that Applegate was admitted in late March, however, the exact reason for her hospitalisation has not been disclosed. It has also not been confirmed if it has anything to do with her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.

Christina Applegate opens up about medical condition

Applegate opened up about her medical diagnoses in June 2021 and has since been vocal about the challenges of living with the condition. The actress’ representative told TMZ, “I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”

The actress, in her recently released her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, details the daily impact of the disease. “When I wake up, I often can’t get my arm to move far enough to grab the cup of water by my bed or my phone from its charger,” she wrote.Applegate has also spoken candidly about the toll of the illness, revealing she is prone to infections which led to her being hospitalised “upwards of 30 times” due to symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea and severe pain.

In a recent episode of the MeSsy podcast, Christina discussed her gastrointestinal issues and encouraged others experiencing similar symptoms to consult medical professionals about potential links between motility issues and multiple sclerosis.
