Akshay Kumar, who is currently enjoying the success of his latest release, ‘Bhooth Bangla’, recently looked back at his earnings from ‘Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani’, revealing that his daily rate at the time was a handsome Rs 8 to 9 lakh. The throwback revelation has since drawn widespread attention from fans and industry watchers alike.

In a candid conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Akshay Kumar recalled the era when per-day payments were the industry standard. He was clearly nostalgic about what those terms meant for him personally. He said, “Uss time mujhe achhe khaase mil jaate thay; din ka mil jata tha 8 se 9 lakh rupee (Back then, I used to get a pretty good amount; I would earn around Rs 8 to Rs 9 lakh per day).”
