Cher was reportedly left stunned after former model Kayti Edwards claimed the singer recently learned she has a secret granddaughter through her son, Elijah Blue Allman. In an interview with The U.S. Sun published Sunday, Edwards alleged that she dated Allman in 2010 and gave birth to their daughter, Ever, that same year. She claimed Cher later contacted her directly after hearing about the child and reacted with shock. The claim adds a new layer to the family’s already public struggles, which include Elijah’s reported overdoses, legal issues, and Cher’s renewed conservatorship filing.

According to The US Sun, Edwards said Cher reached out to her in June 2025 after first hearing about Ever from Allman during a 2021 overdose incident. Edwards claimed Cher initially dismissed it as “crazy talk,” but later wanted answers. “Cher got in touch with me last June and asked if it was true, so I had to confess,” Edwards said. “When she heard the news, she was speechless.” She added that Cher then told relatives, “Oh my God, I’m finally a grandma.”Edwards said she and Allman had a brief romance and that she became pregnant after one night together. “He always knew from day one, but he never wanted to be a parent,” she claimed. “He would pop in every couple of years but would just say hello.”

Cher’s family drama and conservatorship case

Edwards, who is now married, said Allman tried to reconnect in 2021 after an overdose. She said he texted her to make amends. Referring to the man who raised Ever, Edwards said, “She has a father who has raised her from day one and that is her dad. I couldn’t ask for a better father for my kids.”She also claimed Cher later welcomed her and Ever to her Malibu home in September 2025. “She was lovely and kind and we had dinner,” Edwards said. “Cher asked Ever if she wanted to see her closet and showed her a pair of jeans she had worn in concert.” Edwards added, “She was like a kid herself.”Page Six reported that Cher’s representatives did not immediately comment. The outlet also reported that Cher, who shares Elijah with late ex-husband Gregg Allman, filed again for conservatorship, saying his “drug dependency is at its worst.” Court papers obtained by Page Six stated, “Elijah has no ability to manage money, and any dollar he receives from his father’s trust, his only source of income, is immediately squandered without regard for his liabilities or well-being.” The report also noted that Elijah was arrested in February on alleged assault and trespassing charges at a school.
