He was 64 at the time of his passing and had been battling an unspecified illness for a long time.The news was confirmed by The Chosun Daily in their recent report. He passed away on April 22, around 5 PM in the evening, as confirmed by his family members. No other details about his passing were shared with the public. Veteran actor Lee Nam Hee has spent more than four decades in the acting industry, and has worked across films, theatre plays, as well as many popular TV and OTT series. He was born in 1962 and made his debut as an actor at the age of 21 in 1983. He starred in the play ‘Antigone’, after which he slowly worked his way to the top and was cast in local plays and productions in theatres. Some of his other known works include ‘Male Impulse’ and ‘Othello.He also ventured out into films and TV show series, with some of the most popular ones including ‘The Priests’ in 2015, Steel Rain 2: Summit’ in 2020, as well as ‘Six Flying Dragons.’ He accumulated a lot of well-known awards for his work in theatre and cinema in South Korea. These include the Korea Theater Association Acting Award in 1998, the Korea Theater Awards Men’s Acting Award in 2011, and the Dong-A Theater Awards Acting Award in 2012.As per the news report, the memorial service for the late actor has been set up at the Severance Hospital, while the official funeral procession has been officially scheduled for the 24th.
