Billie Eilish joins James Cameron for the London premiere of 'Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)'

Billie Eilish, the Oscar and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter best known for hits like ‘Bad Guy’, ‘Happier Than Ever’, and her James Bond theme ‘No Time to Die’, is adding another milestone to an already extraordinary career. The 24-year-old has co-directed a concert film with none other than legendary filmmaker James Cameron, and the two stepped out together to celebrate its world premiere in London. On Tuesday night, April 28, Eilish hit the red carpet at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square for the premiere of ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)’, wearing a Celine outfit for the occasion. Cameron, the director behind blockbusters including ‘Titanic’ and ‘Avatar’, was by her side for the event, marking an unlikely but clearly fruitful creative partnership between two of entertainment’s most distinctive voices.

What Billie Eilish said about making the concert movie

Eilish opened up about the project in a new interview with Elle magazine, revealing that the idea of a concert film was not something she jumped at immediately. Having already been the subject of a documentary that followed her from the age of 15 to 18, she was understandably cautious about revisiting that kind of exposure.“At first I was like, ‘I don’t want to do a documentary.’ I shot a documentary when I was 15 to 18, just being filmed for three years straight. I’m so private about my actual life now,” she told the magazine. What changed her mind was the involvement of Cameron himself, and the way the opportunity came about was far from the typical Hollywood pitch. “Usually, things go through the team and the managers. But it was literally my mom who told me, ‘Hey, James Cameron has been really obsessed with your show from afar,’” she said. The detail speaks to something genuine about the collaboration. Cameron was not brought in as a commercial calculation. He was, by all accounts, a genuine admirer of Eilish’s live show, and that enthusiasm clearly translated into a creative partnership that Eilish felt she could trust.
