The famed singer-songwriter recently launched a brand new chat feature on her official website. During this time, a comment about Nicki Minaj written under Petras’ name was sent in the chatroom. While many people debated how and why the 33-year-old made the comment online, the singer was quick to provide clarification.Her representatives issued a statement to PEOPLE, citing that it was not the singer, instead, her website had been hacked. The statement further read: “Kim Petras launched a new chat feature on her website yesterday where her name was meant to be user-protected, however earlier today someone other than Kim was able to use the name and type things without her knowledge or approval. Kim has been in Miami working today, and has not yet had the opportunity to log in and personally engage with fans on the website. The chat feature has since been disabled and removed from the website until the issue gets resolved.”
What happened with Kim Petras’ website that caused the debate
To directly connect with her fans, Petras launched the feature to talk to them. While conversing with her fans in the newly launched public chatroom, fans suddenly noticed a user opening under Petras’ official name started commenting negative things about the famed rapper Nicki Minaj.While discussing her latest upcoming album ‘Detour,’ the comment under Petras’ name read: “We need to remove this song with that beast of a lady from my [discography], what y’all think.” Minaj and Petras have previously worked on a song titled ‘Alone’ from her 2023 album called ‘Feed the Beast.’Many people at the time thought that the comment had been due to alleged bad blood between the two musicians. Last December, the ‘Anaconda’ singer had criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom for his ‘trans kids’ comment. She posted, “Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that. Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids.” A day later, Petras also posted something on her socials, saying “trans kids r healthy btw.”
