Amid 'Don 3' row, Ranveer Singh seeks blessings at Chamundeshwari Temple as 'Kantara' mimicry case CLOSED
Ranveer Singh quietly visited Chamundeshwari Temple on Tuesday morning, a day after FWICE announced a non-cooperation directive over his ‘Don 3’ exit. Wearing a mask, he spent 10 minutes praying before being recognised. Singh’s spokesperson cited “dignity, maturity and mutual respect” as reasons for his silence on the controversy.

Ranveer Singh made a visit to the Chamundeshwari Temple, situated atop Chamundi Hills, on Tuesday morning to offer his prayers. The visit came a day after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced a non-cooperation directive against him, following his departure from the highly anticipated film ‘Don 3’.

According to TOI City, the visit was kept private, with Ranveer entering the premises quietly. He entered the temple around 7.30 am like a common devotee and spent nearly 10 minutes inside offering prayers. The temple visit comes at a time when Ranveer finds himself at the center of a growing controversy surrounding his departure from ‘Don 3’. A cine workers’ organisation has declared that its over four lakh members would refuse to work with the ‘Dhurandhar’ star. The matter was further escalated after the film’s producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, filed a complaint before the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association, which subsequently referred it to FWICE.

FWICE issues stern non-cooperation directive against the actor

According to FWICE honorary general secretary Ashok Dubey, the non-cooperation directive was issued after Singh allegedly ignored repeated notices from the federation. “We will not work with Ranveer Singh after today, whether it is cameraman, spot boy, lightmen or anyone else from our side. This non-cooperation will continue till the dispute is cleared,” Dubey announced at a press conference.

In response, Singh’s spokesperson conveyed that the actor harboured “deep respect and goodwill” for all those connected with the franchise, and that his decision to remain silent on the matter was a conscious one, driven by “dignity, maturity and mutual respect.”
