Sussanne Khan and Arslan Goni have opened up about their relationship, love, family bond and life together. The couple, who have been together for nearly five years now, reflected on finding love unexpectedly, balancing their hectic careers and protecting the sanctity of their relationship from public scrutiny.

‘I didn’t ever want to fall in love again’

Speaking about rediscovering love after her divorce from Hrithik Roshan, Sussanne admitted that she had emotionally shut herself off before meeting Arslan.“Before meeting Arslan, I had made up my mind that I didn’t ever want to fall in love. That my whole life was going to be about my work and my kids. That I’m going to be in this ‘no emotional drama’ zone,” she shared with HELLO! India.However, things changed quickly after she met Arslan.“Then I met him, and I remember how everything shifted in my head. It just felt very comfortable, like we had known each other all our lives, like a karmic bond,” Sussanne said.She also described Arslan as “a miracle” and “a blessing” in her life.

Arslan Goni on keeping their relationship private

While the couple often shares glimpses of their vacations and celebrations online, Arslan admitted he prefers to keep their relationship deeply personal.“To me, this bond is sacred, which is why I don’t speak about it publicly,” he said.Talking about how they maintain balance in their relationship, Arslan added, “We’ve found a beautiful balance where we’re not entirely in each other’s faces and don’t overwhelm each other.”Sussanne echoed the sentiment and revealed that they consciously protect their relationship from outside negativity.“When I knew I wanted this bond for life, I told him, ‘I’ll never allow any outside force to infiltrate the solidarity of us.’ It’s important to have that magnetic protection for a couple,” she shared.

‘My boys think Arslan is a cool influence’

Sussanne also opened up about how her sons, Hrehaan and Hredaan, gradually bonded with Arslan over the years.“Hrehaan and Hredaan are like my best friends,” she said, recalling how she introduced Arslan to them after dating for some time.“I told my boys, ‘I met somebody who I really connect with, and I want you to meet him. Tell me what you think.’ Then we had this really cute evening together.”Over time, the relationship evolved naturally.“They think Arslan is a ‘cool’ influence in my life,” Sussanne said, adding that her sons now even ask Arslan for styling advice regarding her outfits.Arslan too reflected on watching the boys grow up over the years. “There are a lot of sweet nuances in our relationship. It’s great among us, but I won’t say more as it’s very personal,” he shared.

‘If you’re in love, you make time’

The couple also spoke about managing time despite their busy schedules. While Sussanne runs her interior design business and Arslan continues building his acting career, they make conscious efforts to stay connected.“We don’t live together yet, but we make trips together. We try to spend our weekends sharing a live-in kind of bond,” Sussanne revealed.Arslan added, “When two people are in love, they manage to find time. Anyone who claims to be in love but can’t find time for their partner… That’s nonsense, not love!”He further shared that even on days when they cannot meet physically, they ensure they stay emotionally connected through frequent calls and conversations.
