Bobby Deol has revealed that both his sons, Aryaman and Dharam, are keen on pursuing careers in the entertainment industry, despite his efforts to expose them to different career paths.Speaking on Aap Ki Adalat, Bobby opened up about his children’s interests, their talents and why the lure of cinema continues to attract the next generation of the Deol family.Talking about his elder son, Aryaman, Bobby said, “He is very talented. During COVID, when everyone was stuck at home, he taught himself filmmaking. He learned how films are edited, how sound effects are added, how dubbing works. He taught himself everything.”The actor also praised his son’s dedication towards improving himself physically and creatively.“He worked on his physique. He is 21 now. He also trained himself in dance by watching YouTube videos. He put in a lot of hard work,” Bobby shared.
‘Most of my Instagram photos are clicked by him’
Bobby revealed that Aryaman later developed a serious interest in photography and spent a year learning under photographer Avinash Gowariker.“He went through a phase after COVID where he became very anxious. Avinash Gowariker, who is a very close friend of mine, told me to send him over. Aryaman worked with him for a year and learned photography,” Bobby said.The actor added that many of the photographs he posts on social media are actually taken by his son.“Most of the pictures that I upload on Instagram are clicked by him. I usually credit him, but he has shut down his Instagram because he doesn’t care about followers,” Bobby revealed.
‘Both my sons want to become heroes’
When asked whether his son would eventually enter films, Bobby admitted that both of his children dream of becoming actors.“Both my sons want to become heroes. What can I do?” he said with a smile.Explaining why acting continues to attract young people, Bobby remarked, “This industry is such that whether you’re a doctor, engineer or from any other profession, somewhere in your heart you feel that maybe you can become an actor too.”
‘I thought he would settle in America’
Bobby also revealed that he had hoped his elder son would choose a different professional path.“I made my elder son study finance. He went to New York University and passed with honours. He was really good at studies. I thought maybe he would do something else, settle in America, build a career there and we’d visit him,” the actor said.However, Aryaman had other plans.“But he wanted to become an actor,” Bobby said.According to the actor, his son is currently training and learning the craft before making his entry into the industry.“He’s learning now. He’s trying acting and working on himself,” Bobby shared.The family’s passion for cinema appears set to continue into the next generation, with both Aryaman and his younger brother aspiring to follow in the footsteps of their father, uncle Sunny Deol and grandfather Dharmendra.
