How Inde Navarrette entered the film industry

Before her breakthrough character, Nikki, Navarrette landed a small role in an indie film made by an Indian filmmaker and director. The actress, when she was only 17 years old, worked on the small indie film titled ‘Cross Words Together.’This was directed by Indian director Shubham Sanjay Shevade. Taking to his social media account, Shevade took it upon himself to get a little nostalgic as he shared some old behind-the-scenes photos from the 2018 film with Inde.After news broke about ‘Obsession’s popularity, he shared the post, looked back at the star’s career, and shared, “8 years ago, I directed a short film – Cross Words Together and had the privilege of working with @indenavarrette. Looking back at these BTS photos today, it’s amazing to see how far she’s come. Long before the world started obsessing over her performance in Obsession (@obsessionthemovie), I was fortunate enough to witness her talent firsthand while directing her in a romantic short film. He cited that Inde played one of the three stages of a woman’s life as she tries to find what love means. The actress played the role of a teenager in the film. Talking about her work, he shared that “The role required a certain innocence and emotional honesty, and that’s something she brought naturally to the screen.”

The film is based around a boy who uses a one-wish willow in order to wish that the girl he has a crush on likes him more than anything in the world. However, his wish backfires when surreal things start to happen, and Nikki starts to act differently and ‘obsessively.’
