NEW DELHI: With the NEET-UG 2026 retest scheduled for June 21 amid heightened security concerns, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday launched a nationwide training programme for examination officials and simultaneously dismissed a viral claim of another NEET paper leak as fake.The new initiative, titled Pariksha Karmayogi: Capacity-Building Programme for Examination Officials, has been launched on the iGOT Karmayogi Bharat platform and is aimed at strengthening supervision, invigilation and standardised conduct of NTA examinations across the country.The programme comes at a time when authorities are implementing multiple safeguards for the upcoming NEET retest following the cancellation of the earlier examination over paper leak concerns. Officials said trained personnel are critical for ensuring uniform procedures and preventing lapses at examination centres.The course is intended primarily for Centre Superintendents and Invigilators involved in conducting NTA examinations, including NEET-UG. It consists of four modules covering the complete examination cycle.The first module introduces the role of examination functionaries in maintaining fairness, transparency and integrity. The second focuses on preparedness before the examination, including centre readiness, security arrangements and compliance with standard operating procedures. The third deals with examination-day operations, covering activities before, during and after the test. The final module serves as a quick reference guide summarising key responsibilities and instructions.Hosted on the government’s iGOT platform, the programme offers self-paced learning and assessment-based certification for examination personnel. NTA said the initiative is intended to improve procedural compliance, operational efficiency and accountability at centres handling large-scale examinations.The announcement coincided with a social media rumour claiming that the NEET question paper had been leaked again.The Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check Unit rejected the claim, posting: “A question paper is being circulated on social media claiming that the NEET paper has been leaked again. This claim is fake.”The PIB advised candidates not to trust or share unverified examination-related content and asked them to rely only on official updates available on the NEET website.NTA also termed the circulating material fake and posted on social media: “This is fake..Being reported to CyberCrime.”
