Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has delighted Malayalam cinema lovers with a heartfelt tribute to veteran actress Urvashi. The actor recreated the iconic ‘Kadukuvara’ scene from the 2005 Malayalam drama ‘Achuvinte Amma’.The Instagram reel has since gone viral across social media. Within a day of its release, the video collected over 495,000 likes. Celebrities and fans alike flooded the comments section with appreciation for Vidya’s recreation of the memorable scene.

Vidya Balan recreates the iconic comedy sequence

The ‘Urumi’ actor shared the video on Instagram, recreating the famous cooking sequence in which Urvashi’s character explains a recipe to Meera Jasmine using broken English.Sharing the reel, she wrote, “A scene of one of my most favourite actors Urvashi Chechi. Why the ‘Kadukuvara’ scene remains unforgettable

Released in 2005, ‘Achuvinte Amma’ was directed by Sathyan Anthikad and written by Ranjan Pramod from a story by Rajesh Jayaraman. The family drama featured Urvashi, Meera Jasmine and Narain in the lead roles, while Ilaiyaraaja composed the music. The film marked Urvashi’s return to Malayalam cinema after a gap of six years. Her performance received much praises from audiences and critics and earned her the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.The “Kadukuvara” sequence continues to enjoy cult status. Urvashi’s natural and flawless delivery along with her terrific comic timing have made it one of the most revisited scenes in Malayalam cinema.Urvashi was recently seen in the Tamil film ‘Parimala & Co.’ where she paired with Jayaram after a long gap.
