The makers of the upcoming film ‘GDN’ have released the official trailer of the much-awaited biographical period drama. The film stars R. Madhavan in the lead role and is based on the life of famous Indian inventor G.D. Naidu.

The trailer was launched at a special event in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The trailer runs for nearly three minutes and gives a look into the inventor’s inspiring journey. It shows how G.D. Naidu worked hard to achieve his dreams despite facing many problems.Speaking about the film, it is set during the pre-independence period and tells the story of G.D. Naidu’s life as an inventor, entrepreneur and visionary.The trailer shows his younger days and the difficult path he followed while trying to create new inventions. It also highlights his different way of thinking and his strong determination to keep moving forward even after facing several setbacks.
Cast of ‘GDN’
It is directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and along with R. Madhavan, the film features Sathyaraj, Priyamani, Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan and several other actors in important roles.Additionally, Krishnakumar Ramakumar and R. Madhavan wrote the screenplay.Govind Vasantha composed the music and background score. Aravind Kamalanathan is the cinematographer, while Bijith Bala handled the editing.The film is produced by Varghese Moolan under his banner in association with Tricolour Films, founded by Madhavan and his wife Sarita.
R. Madhavan’s professional front
On the work front, R. Madhavan was last seen in the Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ and its sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, directed by Aditya Dhar. The films released in theatres on March 19, 2026 and made Rs 1,813.39 crore in worldwide collections as per Sacnilk.Earlier this year, R Madhavan received the prestigious Padma Shri award in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema.
