‘The Cycle of Love’ is a documentary covering the life of P.K. Mahanandia, who met a Swedish tourist, Lotta, while working on the streets of Delhi in 1975. His dedication to their love drives him to ride his cycle 6000 miles to Sweden to meet her. The first trailer for the documentary film has officially been released.

The film documents Mahanandia’s journey as he moves to Delhi and starts sketching portraits on the streets to earn money. Directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, the film includes a fictionalized representation of what happened almost 50 years ago, along with interview excerpts from P.K. Mahanandia himself, who continues to live with his wife, Lotta Von Schedvin.The trailer starts with a child saying, “A prophecy told that my future wife would come from a far-away land.” The trailer then shows glimpses of Mahanandia’s days as a young and struggling artist in Delhi, with him narrating how he started sketching portraits of people to earn money in 1975. He meets Lotta that way, and while they share a close bond, she still has to leave for Sweden. Hell-bent on finding her, he goes 6,000 miles on his cycle.Actors Chirag Benedict Lobo and Mina Dale play their younger versions in the documentary film.

Priyanka Chopra, who is backing the project, also shared the video on her Instagram account and wrote about how touched she was by the story. When and where to watch ‘The Cycle Of Love’?
The film is slated to release on August 28 in New York City at the Angelika Film Center. The UK release has been scheduled for September 18, with more international dates to be announced in the coming days.
