Rajesh Sharma's medical statement deleted as film body demands probe into insect bite incident
Rajesh Sharma remains hospitalised after an alleged insect bite on Prabhas’ film set; his family’s statement was deleted within 24 hours. AICWA demands a probe, medical cost coverage, and action against negligence. NDTV reports his breathlessness and blood sugar have stabilised, though he’s not yet declared out of danger.

Within 24 hours of being posted, a statement shared by actor Sudipa Chatterjee on Wednesday about Rajesh Sharma‘s hospitalisation, following an alleged insect bite on the set of Prabhas’ upcoming film, was pulled from social media. The move comes after the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) pushes for a high-level probe into the matter. The actor remains hospitalised and is still not out of danger.

What the statement said about the incident

According to the now-removed statement, the incident occurred at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad after the day’s shoot concluded. It stated that Sharma was in conversation with local technicians in a densely vegetated spot when he was reportedly bitten by an insect, possibly a bug or a venomous spider.

Sharma initially didn’t seek medical help

Per the statement, Sharma didn’t initially think the bite was serious enough to warrant immediate medical care. It was only afterward that his condition reportedly took a turn for the worse, ultimately leading to his hospitalisation.

Statement no longer available online

That statement, however, is no longer visible on social media and appears to have been taken down.

AICWA demands high-level investigation

In a post on X, AICWA called on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to order a high-level investigation into the incident. The workers’ body also insisted that the film’s producer cover the actor’s medical costs and pushed for strict legal action should the probe uncover any negligence. AICWA president Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, in the statement, raised questions about whether proper emergency protocols had been in place on set, and asked why Sharma wasn’t rushed to a leading Hyderabad hospital if his condition had turned critical during the shoot.

AICWA seeks accountability and safety answers

AICWA also called for clarity on several fronts: whether adequate emergency medical facilities were available on location, whether mandatory health and workplace safety norms were followed, and what exactly transpired on set that caused the actor’s condition to deteriorate so quickly. The association added that should the inquiry uncover any negligence or safety violations, strict legal action must follow against those responsible, stressing that no individual or production house, regardless of the film’s scale or budget, is above accountability. It further urged the makers to take full responsibility for Sharma’s medical expenses and ensure he gets the best possible care until he fully recovers.

Rajesh Sharma’s condition still under watch

Reports suggest the actor continues to be under close medical observation. While there’s been some improvement in his condition, doctors haven’t yet declared him out of danger.

Latest update on Rajesh Sharma’s health

According to NDTV, Sharma’s breathlessness has since been brought under control, along with his blood sugar levels stabilising. That said, he remains under close medical watch, with doctors set to share a more detailed update on his condition soon, only then will it be clear if he’s fully out of danger.
