After delivering the superhit film ‘Drishyam 3’, it seems that a new collaboration between Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and filmmaker Krishand, known for ‘Masthishka Maranam’, is under works.The project, which has been the subject of speculation for some time, has now received confirmation from actor-producer Maniyanpilla Raju.
Film aims to be in the vein of ‘Chotta Mumbai ‘
Speaking to Mathrubhumi, Maniyanpilla Raju shared details about the progress of the project and the importance of having a solid screenplay for a superstar-led entertainer.He said, “With an actor of his stature, the screenplay has to be exceptionally strong. We are planning the film as a full-fledged commercial entertainer in the spirit of Chotta Mumbai. Niyog is writing the script, though he is currently occupied with ‘Tiki Taka’. The screenplay process has already begun, the first draft is ready, and it is now being revised.”
Krishand earlier shared details about the story
Before Maniyanpilla Raju’s confirmation, Krishand had also spoken about the proposed film during an interview with The New Indian Express. At the time, the director revealed that the story is being designed as a realistic detective comedy.According to Krishand, Mohanlal will headline the film, with another important character accompanying him throughout the narrative. The fans are eagerly waiting for an official update.
Mohanlal busy with multiple projects
Meanwhile, Mohanlal was last seen in ‘Drishyam 3’, directed by Jeethu Joseph. The veteran actor is also working on ‘Athimanoharam’, directed by Tharun Moorthy. Interestingly, Mohanlal’s daughter Vismaya Mohanlal is marking her film acting debut with Jude Anthany Joseph’s ‘Thudakkam’ and recently the makers shared a song from the movie which was titled ‘Thaliromale’.On the other hand, Mohanlal will be reportedly seen in a cameo role in the upcoming Prithviraj Sukumaran and Vysakh film ‘Khalifa’.
