Sonakshi Sinha has once again voiced her support for environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, condemning his forced transfer to Safdarjung Hospital after he was removed from the protest site at Jantar Mantar by Delhi Police. Sharing an emotional video on social media, Sonakshi said the move “wasn’t right,” while applauding Wangchuk and thousands of supporters for conducting their protest peacefully. She also urged demonstrators to continue raising their voices through non-violence and expressed hope that meaningful dialogue would begin soon.

Hours after Sonam Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital, Sonakshi Sinha shared a heartfelt video expressing her concern over the incident. She said she was relieved that Wangchuk was safe and with his wife, but maintained that the manner in which he was removed from the protest site was inappropriate.“What happened with Sonam sir today, I am glad that he is okay. His wife is with him. He is still strong. He is alert. For the past few days, I have been seeing thousands of people with him. And whatever is happening with them, they are keeping their words in a calm, respectful and non-violent manner,” Sonakshi said.Despite being admitted to the hospital, Wangchuk has reportedly continued his hunger strike and declined medication and nutritional supplements.Sonakshi praised the students and supporters who have stood alongside Wangchuk throughout the protest, highlighting their discipline and commitment despite facing discomfort and uncertainty. She noted that the movement had remained peaceful and respectful throughout, saying that the resilience shown by the country’s youth reflected India’s true strength. According to the actor, peaceful demonstrations strengthen a movement’s message far more than violence or hostility.Sonakshi said, “We all know that the future of the country is in the hands of its youth. Seeing all of you, that seems even more true now. So much pain, so much disappointment, even after such a long wait, the way you have continued your struggle with peace and respect, hats off to you.”
Sonakshi urges supporters to maintain peace ahead of Parliament march
With supporters preparing for a march towards Parliament on July 20, Sonakshi appealed to demonstrators to continue their movement with peace, unity and respect. She said every citizen has the constitutional right to question those in power and expressed hope that constructive dialogue would begin soon.“On the 20th, those who are going to participate in the march, I have just one request to them. Keep your voice loud. But keep your way, which has been the biggest strength of this movement so far. Peace, unity and respect. Peace, unity and respect. That’s it. Every citizen has the right to speak up. He has the right to ask questions. And when people move forward without violence, without hatred, just with hope and faith, then their voice becomes even stronger,” she said.She concluded by saying she stood with the youth, students, the Constitution and the country, adding that every voice deserves to be heard with dignity.Sinha ended saying, “All of you who are connected with Sonam sir, you have reminded us that courage is not always by making noise. Sonakshi has consistently backed Sonam Wangchuk’s campaign
This is not the first time Sonakshi Sinha has spoken in support of Wangchuk. Earlier this week, she shared another emotional video urging authorities to engage with the protesters. She questioned why meaningful dialogue had not begun despite Wangchuk’s prolonged fast and asked whether action would come only after irreversible consequences.Several members of the film fraternity have also expressed solidarity with Wangchuk, including Shatrughan Sinha, Hrithik Roshan, Shabana Azmi, Soni Razdan, Imran Khan, Abhay Deol, Swara Bhasker, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah.As Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike continues to draw national attention, support from public figures such as Sonakshi Sinha has amplified calls for dialogue and peaceful resolution.
