Kevin Feige was recently asked about the future of the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise and whether Tom Holland and Zendaya would collaborate again on screen for another instalment any time soon. Addressing the matter during a recent interview with Variety, Feige commented that the beloved Hollywood duo are taking some much-needed rest following the success of their two recent films, ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’.He shared, “There are always plans. But right now, he’s going to rest after that global tour. He and Zendaya are going to take a good and restful victory lap, which they very much deserve.”The duo has been busy promoting their two films for the past couple of months, travelling across the world to many premieres. From Japan to London, they have been attending events continuously without a break. Tom Holland even visited India along with Matt Damon and Christopher Nolan to promote the release of ‘The Odyssey’. Holland joined the MCU in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ in 2016, where he first portrayed his character of Spider-Man.

‘Brand New Day’ broke multiple records with its opening week, including dethroning ‘Avengers: Endgame’ with one of the strongest box office openings any MCU film has ever seen. According to Sacnilk data, as of Monday, August 3, the film has already collected around USD 932 million globally, even though it has barely been five days since its release on July 30 and July 31.The president of the production studios also mentioned, “But once the bar had been raised, it could be raised again, right?. I couldn’t be happier that [Endgame] was beaten this past weekend by our 38th MCU movie.” During the interview, he also revealed that he had never expected ‘Brand New Day’ to become this successful, let alone break the record that ‘Endgame’ had set.The next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be released later this year in December, marking the return of Robert Downey Jr to the franchise. He will, however, play the role of the main antagonist in the film, Dr Doom. The movie is also going to see the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, to name a few.
