With ‘Awarapan 2’ gearing up for its theatrical release on August 14, the makers have put an end to rumours surrounding the film’s release. Speculation had been circulating on social media that the sequel had been postponed to September. However, producer Vishesh Bhatt and lead actor Emraan Hashmi have now confirmed that the film will arrive in cinemas as originally planned.The clarification came during an Instagram Live session hosted by Vishesh Films, where the duo interacted with fans and addressed several questions about the much-awaited sequel.
Producer dismisses postponement rumours
During the live session, Vishesh Bhatt rejected reports claiming that ‘Awarapan 2’ had been delayed. He clarified that the production house had never announced any change to the release date and that the film has always been scheduled for an Independence Day weekend release.Vishesh Bhatt also explained why the film’s production took longer than expected. He revealed that the action sequences required considerable time to execute. The schedule was also affected after Emraan Hashmi suffered an injury during filming, forcing the actor to take a temporary break before completing the shoot. According to the producer, the film is now complete and fully prepared for its theatrical release on August 14.
Emraan Hashmi reacts to online speculation
Emraan Hashmi also addressed the rumours during the interaction. The actor dismissed the reports in his trademark style and made it clear that there was no truth to the claims circulating online. He said, “Joh mann chahe bol dete hai” (“People just say whatever they want”), brushing aside the speculation. The actor also teased fans with another announcement. He revealed that audiences can expect a special surprise on August 6, further building excitement around the film. Meanwhile, Vishesh Bhatt confirmed that the official trailer of Awarapan 2 will be released later this week.
Clash with Sunny Deol ‘s ‘Batwara 1947 ‘
‘Awarapan 2’ is set to face competition at the box office from Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947. However, Vishesh Bhatt welcomed the clash and expressed confidence about the release. He said, “We are lucky to be coming to theatres with the legend Sunny Deol. This is our first holiday release.”
