‘Thudakkam’ has witnessed a rise in its box office earnings on the second Friday. The film, which marks Vismaya Mohanlal’s debut, collected Rs 1.11 Cr in India net on Day 8.According to Sacnilk, the latest collection represents a 30.6% increase over the Rs 85 lakhs earned on Day 7. The movie was screened across 845 shows on Friday and registered an overall occupancy of 22.0%.The film had recorded Rs 1.60 Cr on Day 6. Its collection then dropped to Rs 85 lakhs on Day 7.
India collection reaches Rs 17.16 Cr
The Malayalam movie has accumulated Rs 17.16 Cr in India net collections so far. Its domestic gross collection stands at Rs 19.91 Cr.‘Thudakkam’ collected Rs 16.05 Cr during its first week. The film added another Rs 1.11 Cr on Day 8, taking its overall India net figure beyond the Rs 17 Cr mark. The movie was screened across 845 shows on its eighth day.
Worldwide gross stands at Rs 33.96 Cr
‘Thudakkam’ has earned Rs 14.05 Cr in overseas gross collections so far. With its India gross standing at Rs 19.91 Cr, the film’s worldwide gross has reached Rs 33.96 Cr. The Day 8 growth gives the film a positive start to its second weekend.
Night shows register highest occupancy
The film recorded 22.0% overall occupancy across its Malayalam 2D screenings on Day 8. Morning shows had the lowest turnout at 6.00%.Afternoon screenings recorded 11.58% occupancy. The figure increased to 15.92% during the evening. Night shows witnessed the strongest response, reaching 35.83%.
‘Thudakkam’ explores a woman’s fight against injustice
Directed by Lineesh Nellickal, ‘Thudakkam’ centres on Meenu, played by Vismaya Mohanlal. The character is a martial arts trainer who becomes caught in a difficult situation while looking after her differently abled father.Sai Kumar plays Meenu’s father. Aashish Antony portrays the antagonist who is a psychotic rapist and killer. The movie revolves around the challenges faced by women after incidents of violence.
