Vismaya Mohanlal‘s debut movie ‘Thudakkam’ has registered a significant rise in collections during its second weekend. According to Sacnilk, the Malayalam movie earned Rs 1.82 crore net in India on Day 9.The latest figure represents a 64.0% increase over the Rs 1.11 crore collected on Day 8. The movie recorded 40.0% overall occupancy across 844 shows on Saturday.‘Thudakkam’ has accumulated Rs 18.98 crore in India net collections. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 22.02 crore.
Weekend audience turnout improves
The second Saturday has given ‘Thudakkam’ a noticeable boost after a relatively slower first week. The movie finished its opening week with Rs 16.05 crore in India net collections.On Day 7, the film collected Rs 85 lakhs. Its second Friday collection improved to Rs 1.11 crore. The jump to Rs 1.82 crore on Saturday shows stronger audience turnout during the weekend.The Malayalam 2D version recorded 52.17% overall occupancy on Day 9. Morning shows registered 15.17%. Afternoon screenings reached 35.92%, while evening shows recorded 47.92%. Night shows performed the strongest, with occupancy reaching 61.92%.
Overseas collection takes worldwide total higher
‘Thudakkam’ has also performed well outside India. The movie has collected Rs 14.05 crore in overseas gross collections so far.Its India gross collection of Rs 22.02 crore, combined with the overseas gross, has taken the worldwide total to Rs 36.07 crore.
‘Thudakkam’ follows martial arts trainer Meenu
‘Thudakkam’ revolves around Meenu, a young martial arts trainer. Her life takes an unexpected turn after she comes into contact with a dangerous criminal. The story combines action and thriller elements.
