Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Police Company’ starts rolling; it will be a two-part film
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Bhushan Kumar‘s production house will back the project, which stars Harshvardhan Rane, and shooting has begun today. The report states that the film will be made in two parts. Both instalments of ‘Police Company’ will be shot back-to-back, with the makers planning to release them a few months apart in 2027. The strategy is similar to the one used for ‘Dhurandhar’ and, earlier, by Anurag Kashyap for his ‘Nishaanchi’ films. The report revealed that T-Series had initially considered developing the project as a web series, given its expansive narrative. However, RGV pushed for a two-part theatrical franchise, convinced that the scale and characters demanded a big-screen treatment. The success of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is also said to have strengthened his belief in this approach. The report added, “RGV has written it in such a way that it’s going to blow everyone’s minds. Both parts are going to be a crazy, action-packed, thrilling experience for theatrical audiences. He’s literally back to his original form and is giving it his 100% to make it his much-awaited comeback project.”
