The star recently posted and deleted a social media post where he announced he wanted to step back from the industry to focus on himself, claiming he was frustrated with how the film industry had also become corporate-driven. David Krumholtz recently announced that he is taking an “indefinite break” from Hollywood for his mental well-being. After deleting the initial post, the actor shared another statement online on Instagram, providing further clarification and details on the matter. He wrote in his post: “Firstly, I am very well. And I feel very loved. Secondly, I never used the word ‘retiring’ or ‘quitting.’ Instead, I said that I decided to put my career on hold.”He added that he is not completely stepping back from the industry; however, he is planning on taking a much-needed break. He continued, “I don’t expect anyone to understand, but the outpouring of support for my decision has been deeply heartwarming. I am wildly grateful, as more than one of my biggest dreams has come true as a result of being an actor. Grateful to all who support and believe in me.”He further shared, “The weight of those dreams and ambitions has become surprisingly oppressive,” while adding that he understands that the industry has its own set of pros and cons, failures and successes, and that he understands and accepts it for all that it is. However, a lot of things in his life have started piling up in his life.He concluded, “Need time to figure that out; let it heal,” he added. “My mental health is vital to my family. My career has run the gamut. I’m in disbelief. But I find myself at a crossroads between the inherent self-involvement being a professional actor requires and a burning desire to give more of myself to others in need, in whatever way I can. And so, for the time being, I’m pursuing that goal. There’s still more work to come. Stuff to be seen. And as always, I really hope you enjoy what I’ve put out there. Just… give me a sec.”

Vanessa Britting and Krumholtz have been married since 2010 and have stayed by each other’s side through thick and thin. The two have been quite private about their relationship; however, it has been reported on multiple occasions that the two dated for a few years before deciding to get married. They are loving parents of two children: their daughter Pemma Mae, who was born in 2014, and their son Jonas, who was born in 2016. In 2011, he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after he discovered a lump in his neck.
