Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated sequel ‘Jailer 2’ is set to hit the big screens in October. As the release date is coming close the makers unveiled a new song promo from the film. However it seems to have upset some fans in Kerala. The 32-second promo of ‘Ala Bolelo’ featuring Rajinikanth and Shamna Kasim, has made a section of fans complain that the Malayalam words in the song were not pronounced properly.
‘Ala Bolelo’ promo is out
The song ‘Ala Bolelo’ has music and vocals by Anirudh Ravichander, while Arunraja Kamaraj has written the lyrics. Niranjana Raman, Aparna Harikumar and Deepthi Suresh have also provided additional vocals.
Malayalam words in the song
The promo begins with Anirudh singing Malayalam words. Shamna Kasim is then seen dancing in a traditional kasavu saree.The song appears to have been made with Kerala audiences in mind, much like ‘Manasilaayo’ from Rajinikanth’s 2024 film ‘Vettaiyan’. That song also had Malayalam words and was connected to the Onam season.
Fans react to ‘Ala Bolelo’ on social media
Some fans from Kerala were happy to see another Rajinikanth song arriving around Onam. However, many others were not happy with the way the Malayalam words were pronounced.Several Malayalam-speaking fans took to social media to question the pronunciation in the song. One user on X wrote, “Dear Tamils,please don’t include Malayalam in your songs or dialogues unless it’s pronounced correctly. Mispronouncing words,especially the ‘la’ sounds, can be really irritating to Malayalis and may feel disrespectful to our language. This is NOT Malayalam.”
Another wrote, “The beat is catchy, but Anirudh really needs a lyricist who understands Malayalam better.” Another fan suggested, “Hire a lyric writer and singer who knows malayalam.”The full song will be released on August 21.

Speaking of ‘Jailer 2’, Nelson Dilipkumar captains the ship after the blockbuster success with the first part released in 2023. Rajinikanth will return as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, along with Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik. SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna are also part of the cast.Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff are set to return for cameo appearances.The film is set to release on October 15, 2026.
