Fans waiting for the next chapter of Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ may have to remain patient for a little longer. Pranay Reddy Vanga, brother of filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has shared an update on ‘Animal Park’, revealing when the team plans to take the much-awaited sequel on floors. According to Pranay, the director will take a six-month break after completing and releasing his upcoming film ‘Spirit’ before starting work on ‘Animal Park’.
‘Animal Park’ shoot expected to begin in late 2027
Speaking to NTV Telugu, Pranay revealed that the Vanga brothers intend to take a six-month gap following the release of ‘Spirit’. Since the Prabhas-led film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on March 5, 2027, production on ‘Animal Park’ could begin around the latter part of 2027. The update is likely to increase anticipation among fans who have been waiting to see Ranbir return to the world of ‘Animal’. The actor is expected to reprise his role while also taking on a double role in the sequel.
Ranbir Kapoor has a packed line-up ahead
By the time ‘Animal Park’ goes on floors, Ranbir will already have several major projects occupying his schedule. The actor is expected to be busy promoting ‘Ramayana Part 2’, which is slated for a Diwali 2027 release. He is also set to appear alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’, which is expected to release in early 2027. In addition, reports suggest that Ranbir could be involved in the shooting schedule of ‘Brahmastra 2: Dev’ around the middle of 2027.With multiple large-scale projects lined up, coordinating Ranbir’s dates for ‘Animal Park’ could be another important factor in determining the sequel’s production timeline.
Fans react to the delay
The latest update has prompted mixed reactions from fans online. While some expressed concern about the wait, others argued that the gap could benefit the sequel. One Reddit user wrote, “RK took too many time-consuming movies and so did Vicky.”Another commented, “Second half ki script bhulna mat yeh baar.” A fan speculated about the eventual release timeline, saying, “So it will be a 2029 release maybe.” Another reaction read, “It would be too late, I guess.. should have worked on it when Animal was buzzing.”However, not everyone viewed the wait negatively. One person pointed out, “It has just been almost 3 years. KGF’s sequel took 5 years to come, and we all know how successful that movie was.”Another fan referred to Sandeep’s upcoming collaboration with Prabhas and wrote, “So back-to-back Vanga movies for Tripti.”Some users also raised questions about Ranbir’s schedule, with one commenting, “But RK will be stuck with Brahmastra 2 shoot if it’s actually happening.”Amid all the discussion, one fan simply summed up the excitement by writing, “Can’t wait.”
‘Animal Park’ will continue the story
Ranbir had earlier revealed that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had already conceived the idea for ‘Animal Park’ while they were working on the first film. The sequel is expected to pick up from the events of ‘Animal’, rather than telling an unrelated story. The actor has also spoken about playing two characters in the follow-up, adding another layer of intrigue to the project. While the wait for ‘Animal Park’ could extend considerably, the makers appear to be taking their time before returning to the franchise. With Sandeep Reddy Vanga first focusing on ‘Spirit’, the sequel is likely to take shape only after the filmmaker completes his current commitment.
