Marvel Studios is bringing ‘Avengers: Endgame’ back to theatres with the newly titled ‘Avengers Endgame: Encore’.As the film lines up for a September 25 rerelease, the studios on Tuesday, dropped a new trailer, and invited fans to, “Reassemble the team & relive the experience.” The film is giving fans another opportunity to revisit the epic conclusion to the Infinity Saga, as it gears up to close another epic chapter of the Multiverse saga with the upcoming release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

The new 1.36 minute trailer, not only gives fans a look at the film’s updated colour grading, and teases minor changes in the dialogues, but also features epic real-life moments captured from cinema halls of fans going berserk in theatres during the film’s epic climax.The re-release will screen in formats including IMAX and Infinity Vision, with tickets already available for advance bookings. The Encore edition will also feature an exclusive preview of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18.

Russo Brothers on ‘Avengers Endgame: Encore’

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who are returning to the MCU to helm ‘Doomsday’, have described the film as essential viewing ahead of the upcoming release. Speaking to Fandango, Joe Russo said the re-release is, “Gonna connect the story of the two movies.” He went on to add, “There’s a natural progression from Endgame into Doomsday, which is also inclusive of all the other stories that have been playing out. I think it’s required viewing for following the story in Doomsday.”Anthony Russo added, “If you saw Endgame when it was originally released, you couldn’t see this coming.”

The ‘Encore’ edition is expected to offer more than a straightforward theatrical re-release. The film has a confirmed runtime of approximately 185 minutes, indicating that audiences will get several minutes of additional footage.

The film has also been newly colour-graded, and fans taking note of the impressive new visuals, shared side-by-side comparisons with the original 2019 release on their social media handles.

New promotional posters for the new edition have also been shared online, giving the film’s iconic heroes a metallic, engraved visual treatment. The theatrical return is also being accompanied by new merchandise and collectables. Select cinema chains are expected to offer themed concessions, including a glowing Nano Gauntlet popcorn bucket and an LED Iron Man helmet.
