‘Awarapan 2’ which clashed at the box office with ‘Batwara 1947’ ahead of Independence Day has hit the ball out of the park and how. The film which was made on a moderate budget of Rs 45 crore has gone on to earn more than 200 percent profit at the box office. It has continued its impressive run at the box office, maintaining a healthy pace even after completing its first week. The film started its theatrical journey with Rs. 22 crore on Day 1 and witnessed a significant jump on Day 2, when it collected Rs. 33.75 crore. By the end of its opening week, the sequel had earned Rs. 113.50 crore India net, while its worldwide gross stood at Rs. 161.67 crore.Awarapan 2 Movie ReviewThe film remained steady through its second weekend and also passed the second Monday test. On Day 8, it added Rs. 5.75 crore, followed by Rs. 8.25 crore on Day 9. The collection climbed further to Rs. 8.75 crore on Day 10 before dropping to Rs. 2.75 crore on Day 11.Interestingly, ‘Awarapan 2’ witnessed an uptick on its second Tuesday, with Day 12 bringing in Rs 4 crore. The growth came amid discounted ticket prices, helping the film push its cumulative India net collection to Rs 143 crore, according to Sacnilk.The immediate challenge, however, is the increasingly crowded theatrical landscape. While ‘Batwara 1947’ has failed to make an impact at the box office, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has emerged as a stronger competitor in its third week. The latter’s presence could affect ‘Awarapan 2’ further as the film is expected to lose screens with the arrival of Yash-starrer ‘Toxic’ from today.With competition intensifying and its screen count likely to come down, the pace of ‘Awarapan 2’ is expected to slow from here.
