Three students from Telangana were killed in a road accident in Florida, US, after the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree in Brevard County.According to local reports, one of the deceased has been identified as N Rahul from Navipet in Telangana’s Nizamabad district.Rahul had travelled to the US around three months ago for higher studies and was among the three travelling to their part-time workplace when the accident occurred, reports said.The crash took place on Interstate 95 in the Palm Bay area of Brevard County. According to reports citing the Florida Highway Patrol, the car, a 2025 Hyundai Elantra, veered off the road and crashed into a tree before catching fire.Two occupants died at the scene, while Rahul was taken to a hospital, where he later died.Rahul’s father, Haribabu, said his son had completed his MS and enrolled for a PhD at the University of South Florida. He was also looking for employment.Haribabu said Rahul had spoken to his mother shortly before his friends arrived to pick him up for work, in what turned out to be his last call home.The identities of the other two deceased students were not immediately known.The Telugu Association of North America is coordinating with US authorities to complete the formalities and facilitate repatriation of the bodies, according to reports.In another recent incident involving an Indian-origin student in the US, 19-year-old Santa Cruz student Alli Renee Singh was killed after a car plunged off West Cliff Drive near Streamer Lane on August 13.Singh was not driving the vehicle and was trapped inside after it became submerged. Rescue teams attempted to reach her, while the male driver escaped with minor injuries, according to a New York Post report.
